Jewellery making workshop

Unplug and recharge as ecologist and silversmith Sophie guides you to make your own bespoke fine silver pendant or charm bracelet inspired by nature. You will begin on an immersive nature walk following deer trails through the magical woodland and stunning bogland, gathering natural materials and inspiration as you learn about the folklore of plants and explore nature with your senses. Then return to the cosy craft studio, nestled into the nature reserve, where Sophie & Lucy will show you how to turn your piece of nature into pure silver, to create a timeless one of a kind keepsake you will treasure forever.

What’s included?

An immersive nature walk, learning about the ecology and folklore of the plants and trees found on the farm, where you will gather pieces of nature to inspire and use in your jewellery design.
All materials and guidance needed to make your bespoke piece of fine silver jewellery, including an eco-friendly keepsake box and a sterling silver chain so you can even wear it home!
Light refreshments (coffee/tea & cake!)
NB: Participants can choose to make a pendant (included in workshop price) or upgrade on the day to make a charm bracelet for an additional €20.

Who is it for?

All of our workshops are suitable for absolute beginners, and no previous experience is necessary. Workshops are best suited to adults and older teenagers (16+, accompanied by an adult), however family friendly options are available for private bookings upon request. Our maximum group size is 8 people.

Where and when?

Workshops run from 10am – 2pm, and are held in our craft studio on our family farm in Newtownmountkennedy, Co. Wicklow. For dates and availability, please CLICK HERE.

Anything else I should know?

As the workshops are held on a working farm and include an outdoor element, participants will need to bring suitable clothing (e.g. wellies/boots, rain jacket, warm layers on colder days).

The workshops do consist of some outdoor elements in natural areas on uneven ground. The nature trail includes some slopes, and travels over small logs etc. and the nature trail and farm paths are not currently wheelchair accessible. However, workshops may be adapted to suit participants with additional physical needs and we ask you to please get in touch prior to booking to discuss your needs.

Price

€165 per person, which includes all materials you’ll need to make and wear home your silver pendant (incl. fine silver precious metal clay, an 18″ diamond cut sterling silver chain, and an eco-friendly keepsake box), as well as tea, coffee, biscuits and cake.
